In order to return to either training (Phase 1), training (Phase 2), friendly matches or league matches we must comply as a club to certain guidelines and procedures. The purpose of this article is to set those guidelines out and guide our club through this process, be that coaches, parents / carers or players. Please take time to read through this, click on the relevant links, read the documents and most importantly fill in the online forms as detailed below as no coach or player will be able to participate competitively without doing so.

The FA has announced that: ‘SUBJECT TO THE NECESSARY RISK ASSESSMENTS being in place, ‘contact’ outdoor grassroots football may resume in groups of no more than 30 (including coaches)’. (The FA announcement was issued on Friday 17th July 2020).

The full Culcheth Athletic Risk Assesment can be found here.

Culcheth Athletic Junior FC Committee stress that this is a PHASED re-introduction to football for all players. The Club requires that teams starting back training should initially follow the ‘social distancing training’ procedure first (Phase 1, below), to ensure that all players in a squad understand fully the need to remain 2m away from each other during subsequent contact training for as much of the game as possible. It is noted that some teams may choose for now to remain with Phase 1 sessions rather than opt to go for ‘contact training’ (Phase 2, below).

Teams may ONLY progress from ‘social distancing training’ to ‘contact training’ if the Team Manager and Coaches are satisfied with compliance to these FA derived COVID-19 training procedures.

The 2020/21 Season / Friendlies
From 1st August 2020 ‘properly FA sanctioned friendly matches’ are permitted (subject to suitable risk assessments in place) and the new league season is scheduled to commence at some point in September 2020. So, we as a Club are committed to this phased re-introduction of grassroots football.
